REAL WEDDING: ASH & SHAUN, ACACIA RIDGE IN THE YARRA VALLEY

Ash and Shaun’s wedding at Acacia Ridge was one of those days where everything just flowed. Easy-going couple, stunning backdrop, awesome crowd - the kind of gig that reminds me why I love what I do.

Acacia Ridge never disappoints. Set in the Yarra Valley with vineyard views and fairy lights under the marquee, it’s got that laid-back charm couples are always chasing. The weather held up, the drinks were flowing, and the vibe felt spot on from the first guest arrival to the final song of the night.

These two wanted things low-fuss but memorable. They booked me as their DJ and MC, which meant I was across the whole day, from ceremony music right through to the dance floor madness. Having one person steer the timeline, music and mic made everything feel seamless. We rolled from heartfelt, loved-up vibes during the ceremony into a high-energy reception, and their guests didn’t miss a beat.

They had The Photobooth Girl on board, which was a massive hit. People were ducking in between songs for selfies in the booth, and Michael Briggs was behind the lens all night long, capturing all the big moments and the sneaky in-betweens like the legend he is.

The dance floor was wild. Music-wise we had a bit of everything - old-school classics, fresh bangers, and a few tracks that had a groomsman attempting the worm.

Ash and Shaun wanted it to feel easy, fun, and true to who they are, and that’s exactly what it was. If you’re thinking of tying the knot in the Yarra Valley and want someone who can run the show without making it all about themselves, I’d love to be a part of your big day.
