Sara & Nik’s Elegant & Timeless Wedding At Stones Of The Yarra Valley
Timeless, classic and elegant was the brief for Sara and Nik’s wedding, which was held at the picturesque Stones Of The Yarra Valley. The couple, who met through friends when they were 16 and 18, planned their day around this theme, but also wanted a wedding filled with love, laughter, memories and fun. They say having every single person in their lives all in the same room at the same time made it extra special. There to capture all the big moments and beautiful details was photographer Kas Richards and cinematographer Wed-deographer. Below, Sara shares her and Nik’s love story and how their dream wedding came together.

Over the years I have seen some massive fails at receptions. Couples wanting a full dance floor and end up with a couple of boppers and then crickets for the remainder. Inexperienced DJs hired on the 'cheap', not being able to read a crowd. I am always asked if I prefer a DJ over live music, and I honestly believe both have their purpose, but today I'll focus on DJs.
I first met Shannon from Music with Memories in 2014. I was photographing my 7th ever wedding and I will never forget how impressive the dance floor was. The night ran so smoothly, he read the crowd and continued to play banger after banger appealing to all the guests. I just knew he had a natural talent for it, and we have been friends ever since.

Nicole and Jarrod At Riverstone Estate
As how all good love stories start, Nicole + Jarrod first met on a Contiki tour of the USA back in 2011. After numerous nights of drinking and partying, they stayed in touch after the tour and went on their first official date on Valentine’s Day in February 2012. As they were both living in different states at the time, Nicole made the journey from WA to Melbourne and the rest was history from the moment they met till now, their wedding day.
What a splendid day. I count myself ever so lucky to work in my backyard – the Yarra Valley – with such cool and energetic couples like Nicole + Jarrod. They are the best types of people you’d want to spend the day with. Lots of laughs throughout, both kind and easy going and friendly – they both simply just wanted to party with their nearest and dearest… and that’s exactly what they did.
